2005 stx
new to the forum and i am looking to buy my first 4x4 truck. I might be ging to buy the truck this weekend. its an 05 STX 4X4 4.6. I was thinking. I have a little money to play with and was thinking of this setup. Leveling kit with 315/70/17, aftermarket shocks and a aftermarket rear locker. What do you think. Should i not go with the stx should i save more money for a better down payment on an fx4 or would this truck with this setup have thre same or maybe better capabilities as an fx4

You would have a problem runing the tires u wanted to with just a leveling kit. With a smaller tire and the stx might be a better set up. You would end up saving money on the older truck and be able to have money to do with it what u want. We also have a full line of leveling kits and can get aftermarket lockers.
hmmm, learn something new everyday. I got rid of my 05 Reg Cab STX for my new FX4. Love it!

i have a 4x4 4.6 stx and its a 05, i love it but it lacks so much power, get a 5.4 and do it right imo, the lack of creature comforts and power is my only negatives for the truck, other then that shes great
