Default 17x8.5 Wheels with 6" Backspace

Hello! I have searched for the answer but I can't find the information so I'm here to ask. I'm new to 4x4 other than stock. I am looking at some wheels that are Dick Cepek that are 17x8.5 with 6" of backspace and offset of +32mm. I want to put 315/70/17 tires on these. I am about to install a 2.5" rough country strut extension leveling kit. My question is.....will I have rubbing with this setup? Thank you for any information that you can give me. I can go down a tire size if I need to.

Does anyone know if I'll experience rubbing with these rims?

This is a pic of the 2004 Lariat 4x4 I had with a 2-1/2" leveling kit. Wheels are American Racing 17x8 with 5.5 inches of backspacing..tires are 315x70x17 BFG TA/KO's..no rubbing with this set up. I later went down to some 295x70x17's that fit better and still looked good. Please let us know the year of your truck as it makes a big difference.

Thanks Pawpaw! My truck is a 2007 F150 4x4 crewcab. It's about to get a complete facelift including a good paint job. I'm just confused on the wheel stuff. I love the looks of your 2004

Thanks...here's a few more pics. The 17x8.5 wheels with 6 inches of backspacing will tuck the wheels inside the wheelwells just like these do. They may be a little close to the upper control arm with the width of the tires. I'd test fit one if possible to make sure you have clearance. They may or may not rub as it will be close.

These are the 17x9 wheels with the 295x70x17 Toyo MT's (33.5x12) wheels had 5 inches of BS or 0 degree offset..they stuck out 2 inches more then stock 17" wheels. No problems rubbing. I bought this truck new in Jan '04 and sold it in Feb '11. Truck had over 100K miles and still looked and ran like new.

FWIW, a 17x8.5 with 6" BS is almost identical to 09-14 Raptor wheels. They are 17x8.5 with just over 6" bs (6-1/8" i believe). So your setup would sit ~1/8" further out than the Raptors wheels. I'm not sure if how different the 07 is, but Raptors fit well on 09-14s with 315/70/17

You are correct about being close to the Raptor wheel specs. The 04 to 08's have less clearance in the wheelwells so that may be a problem. I think it will be close but they should clear. Best to use tires that are all terrains instead of the big side lug mud tires. More rubbing occurs when the wheels stick out further then the stock ones do so its sometimes tough to find the right wheel.
