Default 17 L 150 4x4 screw in mid deep beach sand , your experience ?

I have the locker, in my tacoma that also has limted slip, Really have to do something dumb to get yourself stuck in beach sand.

( my first trip will be to the sand this friday night in new ride )

My 1994 F250 was ok in sand, required slow pace, it would grind it out

What have your experiences been with the 2017 Lariat with 4X package
3.6 EB and 10 speed auto.

I don't think it matters if it's a Lariat, XL, King Ranch or whatever. Should do fine, consider airing down for more floatations. I would also consider running in 4-low for torque. Enjoy

Definitely air down. 15-20psi in sand. Keep the rpms up in lower gears. Start in 2wd. Or if you need, stay in 4W-HI. No reason to use 4W-LOW unless you're climbing steep inclines. You'll just over torque and top out your rpms too early before shifting.

Remember, floatation and momentum are your friends.

Did not make the beach yet, waiting on read fenderwell inserts.
I did back boat down and remove with no issue on a very slippery
boat ramp. I was very pleased how easy it was. No spinning 2wd

Exactly, airing down will make the biggest improvement!

somewhat cut up sand, no problems, it worked much like my 1994 F250 , not
fast, but steady , easy going no big deal , Tried just lockers and no 4wd , started
bouncing pretty quick. 4h worked easy. I did check granny to make sure it worked,
it was perfect. for the really deep stuff . I also tried the auto 4wd , not sure
i could really tell much. The real test would for us here in texas is gorda or PINS
down near corpus, this test area was st luis pass galveston.
Very pleased with truck as I expected I would be. Stocker 20 inch tires.

We were vacationing in OBX last summer. My brother had a Honda Pilot that was 4wd. We aired down the tires and was able to not get stuck in the sand. Pulling in behind us was a last generation 4wd SCREW. When it was his turn to pull on the beach, he drove fifteen feet and got stuck. Had to call a tow truck.

Not sure if it had a locked rear or not. We asked him if he aired down. He said yes from 45 to 32. We told him he should go much lower. Also he had four people in the cab and three teenagers in the bed. Not sure if all that weight was a good or bad thing.

Sand was kind of deep.

Down at matagorda texas some years back we would sit and watch the big trucks all get stuck
where our tacoma would do just fine. The big deisel trucks nearly always sank unless they had
very large tires.
You have to know when to say KingsX and give up on forward progress as your now digging a grave.
go in reverse and make diffrent path.
