Default 07 FX4 - Dune Bashing

Hi All,

I've just bought myself a brand spanking 07 FX4. I live in the U.A.E. and over here we have deep sand and big dunes. I'm trying to decide what the best options are for lifting, suspension, tyres etc in order to improve off-road capability. I'm still panning to commute to work in the truck so i don't want to go all out. Any advice is much appreciated.

I would go with a BDS 6" kit. 35x12.50 BFG Allterrain KOs. Good sand tire, lasts a long time and with a set of 4.56 gears will not kill the daily commute.

X2 on what NGM said.

I have pulled into the UAE (Jebel Ali) numerous times on US Navy aircraft carriers. Very hot, but a very nice city.

Been to Dubai several times, if I recall Dubai is the city that has a very big mall. First time I was there was July 1994 and all I remember is walking off the ship and thought I had walked straight into a blast furnace it was so hot.

Also check out Interco Trxxus tires, they make a tire specifically for sand.
