First time stuck in the mud

First time stuck in the mud
I took my truck back to Missouri to see some family for the holidays and decided to get some mud on the truck. Took a back road as far as I could. It ended with a 4' hole that I wasn't getting up. Backed the truck up into a small area and tried to retrace my steps. Just so happened to retrace perpendicular to the deep ruts. Landed in the ruts and got the truck stuck. Had to call my bro-in-law to bring the tractor to get me out.

not exactly the best setup to go mudding, but it's always fun!
and yes, been there, done that... it's a lot more fun when you have someone nearby to pull you out, isn't it?...

Don't Feel too bad. First time finding out you don't go wide open throttle into a puddle when you aren't sure how deep it is. By myself, no cell service, 11 hours to get it home and a hydrolocked motor later it was my most expensive lesson learned. Like everyone has said we've all been there

How much was it to repair the hydrolock?

I learned how to drive in a '93 Jeep deep in the back trails of Davy Crockett Forest. First time I ever got stuck in mud was with my pawpaw (grandfather) when he was trying to teach me how to drive in mud. I took my foot off the pedal for maybe...1 1/2 seconds? Then right as he finished saying "Don't take your foot off the gas boy!" we got stuck. Not to deep...just 1/2 way up my legs lol.
I've been lucky since then, never been stuck since I've had my Ford...but I am always a bit weary...despite the lift and my experience, a 2WD is a 2WD.

connecting rod snapped and bunched a hole in the side of the block so ended up replacing the motor. Actually got a good deal on a motor that only had like 1000 more miles than mine did. All and all it was just under $1800
