I'm not complaining by any means, but honestly people should NOT be allowed to nominate their own truck. Not saying that these trucks aren't nice, but that really takes away from the point of nominating. 99% of the time people are going to say there truck is awesome, it's a badass truck, It deserves to win, etc... But the trucks that are featured in TOTM should be trucks that stick out to others. Bring the member involvement back in to it instead of guys with less than 50 posts all together coming in and nominating there own truck. With less than 50 posts there is a strong chance that the rest of the community didn't even know what your truck looked like until you nominated it yourself.
Again I'm not complaining, and if i'm the only one who feels this way, then I will conform to what the vast of the members want to do and keep my .02 to myself. I just think the rules need to be re-structured and clearly defined.

^no you're not the only one. I agree. if someone sees your truck, and thinks it deserves TOTM, they'll post about it. you shouldn't do it yourself just so people see it.

I'm kinda the other way. I think the posts were better when people nominated themselves. They would actually list all their mods or would wait until they got something new done before tossing their hat in the ring. Maybe go take some new pics and such. Stuff that other people wouldn't necessarily know about the truck.

I am all for having a minimum post count before submitting a nomination. Folks should participate in the community.

I agree with Thump. putting your own truck up and listing all of the mods done helps others to see what you have done to it. On other forums I've been on they just post a thread saying "ok its time to vote for whatever of the month for July....post your rides!" then admin decides the top 3 then voting starts. No one knows as much about one's truck as the owner does. Nominating others over complicates things. Its simple, if someone nominates their own truck, and its not worthy of being TOTM then it doesnt make it into voting. simple as that. I dont see the issue with it.
Sometimes nominating your own truck is the only way to get it out there in the "public eye." Otherwise there will be a bunch of boring "look at my truck" threads popping up with people showing off there run of the mill truck with some mud flaps on it. Creating a bunch of worthless other threads. IMO this kind of stuff is what the TOTM nomination thread is for.

There are so many trucks from last year that have had some good mod work done. I wouild like to see the owners nominate thier trucks.

We tried to have other members nominate someone else's truck, but it became difficult because: 1) not many nominations were coming through and 2) they didn't have all the information regarding the truck, so they could only post a little information about it.

So, we went back to the original process of people being able to nominate themselves. However, I will say, you still can nominate someone else's truck and that nomination will hold a lot of weight when it comes to selecting the 3 to be voted upon.

That solves any issues! A person can go either way. To get a truck in the running, nominate their own truck or nominate one they really like even if it's not theirs.

We live in a democracy, I dont get this wish wash of do it one way then another. The moderators really need to get their Sh it together before doing something. If you make a rule its a rule. You should think things out completely before jumping around on things. ONE PERSON needs to setup a set of rules for all of us to go by. Like a consitution of articles that says here is what we do and how we do it. Then have the others (moderators) vote for or against and offer a change. Wishy washy this way that way becuse one guy said or another guy said. Thats what brings down a forum... Step up and take command if you want to be in charge then you get the good and bad that goes with that power. Stop changing the rules!!!
