Do we need to check into how many new members signed up then voted shortly after?

Kinda crazy it went from such a close race to this all of a sudden. Just sayin'.
Too bad I was too late to vote in this one. And a controversy too!

All are nice trucks. What you really have here is Store bought trucks and a home built truck. Lets face it guys, all you have to have to get all of these trucks 'cept one is a fat wallet. That one is a prime example of desire and the skill to put it together....

FTN, if I could have, I would have voted for yours. ANYBODY can buy a truck. FEW can build their truck.

You have NO idea who has a "store bought" truck and who has put the work into theirs....You are making a pretty unfair assumption here. Just because someone's truck is newer and looks professionally done (prettier) doesn't mean it was paid for. A LOT of people on this forum do all of their own work.

OK Let's face the facts.

You have 4 MEGA Buck trucks with store bought parts vs. a $3,000 homebrew truck. All very nice, and all deserving.

Right out the gate we have ColdSteel86 attacking the homebrewed truck because he perceives it might not be a a daily driver. Then you come along and start whining that the winning truck must be cheating.

The facts are that anybody can take 30 to 80 grand, buy some store bought parts and stickers and regardless of who installs them, end up with a nice truck.

Then you have a guy who has the skill to build his own, from scratch...on a tight budget.

Now, I ask you, which truck would garner the most respect? My vote goes to the guy who is capable of building the truck himself, not the guy who glued on his new bumper cover.

If I had 2 votes, I would have used it for that very nice, not so high dollar 97, Low2High built. A very close second.

Looking at the votes, it appears that 61.69% of the voters agree with me. You and ColdSteel86 are the only ones who whined.

I never once whined. I simply made a statement based on what I have personally seen happen on more than one occasion on the forums with vehicle of the month contests. I never disrespected him or his truck in any way either nor did I imply his truck was sub par. What you are accusing myself and others of doing to FordTruckNut's truck...you are doing to all of the newer ones.

Newer vehicles are harder and more expensive to work on. Older trucks are easier and cheaper to work on. Is it really that much more of an accomplishment to refurbish/piece together an old truck compared to modifying a newer one? Not in my mind. I think both are equally satisfying and equally respected. I love older Fords/trucks as much if not more than the next guy, but a nice truck is a nice truck regardless of the money spent or who did it. Its as simple as that. I applaud him for the work he put into it, but it wasn't the nicest truck in the lineup IMO. And my concern for the sudden jump in votes wasn't anything personal towards him or his truck. I would have done the same thing had the owner of a 2011 mint condition pimped out Ecoboost had shown the same weird trend/occurrence.

Last time I checked this was truck of the month (nicest truck contest? I think so) Not effort of the month, or least money spent building their truck contest. Get off your high horse.

where in the rules does it say its a nicest truck contest?? when i read the rules it just said truck of the month not nicest truck of the month, or shiniest painted truck of the month, there for the guy with the brand new off the lot truck could win, or the guy with a 25 year old truck that everything is rusted off of could win.

so if anyone needs to get off their high horse it is you.

and if you still think your truck is better than my old beat up truck bring it out i've got a chain we can hook up and i'll show you a real truck or i've got some trails we could go down you can try to follow, or i know of some mud holes. but sorry the nearest mall is 100 miles away so we cant go parking lot crawling.

All I stated was what I interpreted the TOTM to be. When I vote for TOTM I look for the nicest truck...Simple as that. Like I said, I NEVER once talked badly about you or your truck so I'd appreciate if you get the stick out of your ***.
I also NEVER said my truck was better than yours. I also never claimed I could out run you in the hills. etc etc etc. So making childish remarks like that are unnecessary and takes it to an immature level that this discussion doesn't need to be.

That being said, I hunt and fish in the most mountainous state in the U.S. My truck gets more than its fair share of offroad use and abuse and comes back for more. Mall crawler it is NOT.

I also own a 1976 Ford Hiboy with a 400 in it. I know all about owning older badass trucks. I actually prefer the 76 to my 2004. And I actually (believe it or not) LIKE your truck. So get your panties out of a wad and see what I'm saying for what it is....simple conversation. My comments weren't made to bash you or your truck, they were made to refute what kc0rey was saying.

What I say needs no refuting. If you can legitimately show I am wrong, I will admit I am wrong and thank you for the lesson.

But you can't do that, can you?
