Ideas for TOTM contest

don't mean to complain or anything, but this month TOTM (January) is just a recap of the past 4 TOTMs where the brand new 09+ lifted truck is going to win because everyone likes to vote for the brand new flashy lifted truck. I would love to see one of these flashy brand new trucks going up against another 09+ and then next month TOTM with next Gen. below it, 04-08 then 97-03, and so on... the Only way I see these TOTMs actually being fair is to do it by Generations... correct if I'm wrong...
again.. don't mean to sound b*tchy, but the past TOTMs have all been the same

well if there was a lifted or lowered truck of the month it would bee more fair for people. my truck has more mods and things done to it than mosts peoples who win the truck of the month. this site is mainly about lifted trucks so theres no way for people like me to win. so if everyone could have a fair shot at it should be two catagories

TOTM issues
ok i have a couple issues and possible solutions I would like to see addressed with this wonderful competition
Issues
1 How come a brand new member that has only signed up and post once on our great forum can just automatically put himself in for the TOTM.
2 Why can you nominate yourself.
Possible solutions
1 Impose a post limit of say 100-200 min posts in the forum before you can be in the running for TOTM
2 Only allow other members of the forum to nominate another member to be in the running and if the person so chooses to accept he posts pics and info on his truck in the new thread if he does not accept the nomintation he takes no further action and he isn't in the running
But as always this is only my opinion on how it should be ran but other forums that have a whatever of the month competition have had great success with this format anyways feel free to object this or to luv it it doesn't matter to me anyways

I totally agree with your first post, but i feel like for the second, the first time i see alot of these sick trucks is on the competition page.

Since the goal of TOTM is to put trucks in categories, how about we are told what the trim/categorie is for the next month, and then everyone can start nominating fellow members that they see have that style? All we need is to be told, and we'll listen (but at least tell us a month ahead of time).

Oh, and new people with little to no votes shouldn't be able to run, or vote in the TOTM. That is fair, and it would prevent others from creating accounts just to vote for themselves (not saying this takes place, but...).

Minimum number of posts before being considered is a good idea.
How about a 2wd only TOTM? Or the "most used" (i.e. ugliest?) TOTM. Themes are a good idea (baja style, low and slow style, 35"+ inch tires, tall truck, work truck/commercal use truck....).... I didn't go through all the posts so some of this may be already here.
