Purchased a 2012 FX4 back in August. I wasn't sure either about the tires in the snow so I picked up some 18' Goodyears and a cheap set of rims. Haven't been able to test them out in the snow yet as its been pretty mild here in the east. It does mess up my fuel economy readings by a couple of liters but its no big deal for the next 5 months.

Hey guys, for the ones it may interest, I just got a set of Yokohama Geolander GO72, in 265-70-17" got it for 184$ Cdn each + taxes and 10$ delivery.

As for the rim, a local scrap yard has bought a huge quantity of brand new 17" Ford chromed rim, I mean this was not my ideal choice of wheel but for 400$ CDN including balancing, nuts and installation, it was a no brainer versus the black steelies.

I wanted to get a nice set of Black wheel but I didn't felt like spending 700$ for a set of wheel that will inevitably bite the bullet with the crappy road and the kind of winter we get over here.

Over the week-end, I went to the family country house up in the north, where we got our first snow of the winter. I felt the Yoko's are quite smooth and very stable, the road where partially covered with ice and a bit of snow and I was happily surprised of the stability. The F150 Foose Edition, is a 2 x 4 and this is my first non 4 x 4 truck ever, so it kind of concerned me a bit to see how bad or good the truck would behave in winter condition, but so far so good, I have put 4 bag of 66 lbs of sand in the back and I guess this will help for sure.

Ya, my local tire shop in central Ontario had a whole wack of those 17" Ford wheels too but for the price of 17" tires and wheels I could just slap the 20" rubber on my chrome clads. The chrome clads are mint after one winter, so i'm not concerned, and this way my truck looks bitchin' all year round. Tires go on tomorrow, which is just in the knick of time. I was riding my bike in 14*C and sunshine 3 days ago, today I cleared my driveway 3 goddamn times; just under foot of snow in the last 18 hrs!

DoubleA007: I always had 2wd in quebec(87 ranger, 2001 ranger and now my fx2)..and never needed to put weight in the back.
it give a good sense of security but it's a false one.
In fact it's great...as long a you don't loose it. if you loose the rear end: getting it back under control gets harder.

Plus my f150 is the one which almost never slide the rear end (automatic transmission helping)

Hey maxpat82 not sure if you remember me ? I used to post on maxima.org forum but also a local nissan forum ( sorry I forgot the name ) Still have the Maxima, it's been sitting in the garage for the last 7 years close, the car is almost done, just need to work out 2 small leak and fix the exhaust, ECU and should be good to burn some rubber next spring. I enjoy the F150 but cant wait to drive the beast again.

Hey guys, time to buy new rubber on the F150 Foose, the summer wheel are 22" it look like they are 10" wide. The original rubber where 275-45-22, I'm wondering if there is any problem running 305-45-22 or perhaps 305-40-22 on the Foose wheel, like fender rubbing or else. Based on the rim width 305 /40 or 45 is approved. What do you guys think ?

Thanks

AA

Default Scored!

Just picked up a mint set (used a month or two in light suburban driving) Goodyear Ultra Grip ICE WRT's... for $500 all in on Kijiji. P265/70R/17 115S.

They look totally fresh. I am to mount them on F-150 and Expedition FoMoCo 'Hollander 3781' Aluminum wheels, 17x7.5 X44
