Tire size for a 2” levelling strut
Looking for opinions on the best tire and tire size for a 2011 FX4 with Bilstein 5100 levelling struts (2”). I was thinking of putting 295/60/20 but only a couple of tires out there that offer this size other than the Nitto Ridge Grappler, which are very expensive. I have 285/55/20s now and would like to get more height and width without rubbing. Any suggestions?

Search the forum, there is a good LEVELING KIT thread that should answer most of your questions. Most people have already asked and had this question answered. I'm in the same boat as you however I have stock 22s and nobody has done a leveling kit that I could find with stock 22s but a ton have done it with 20s.

After searching I'm pretty much in between 285/65/20 or 305/55/20. I think the 295/65/20 would rub since there 35.1" tire. Just not sure what looks better a taller tire but a bit narrower or the wider and lower profile. Leaning more towards the 285/65/20 so far since the extra height would probably fill the extra space that the level is going to give. Just worried that it might look to skinny for the height?

You're right there's tons of options for the 305/55R20. I only found 3 tires in an all terrain/mud terrain in 295/60R20 which two are very aggressive mud terrain tires. I was going to get 295/60R20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers but they are about 200$ more a set than the same tire in a 285/65R20. The guy at Kal Tire said it was 10mm difference in the width and I'd be getting more height which is what I wanted for a fraction of the cost. Think it's a good idea? Or would it look too tall for the width?

I went with a 275/65/20 on my 2013 with leveling struts, they came out to be 34.2 inches tall and 11 inches wide, I was worried that they wouldn't look wide enough but they really look good. They fill the fender wells, and they don't rub. They are also lighter than a wider tire which has helped with fuel economy. There are a lot of options for that size from all-terrain to mud tires.
