Just purchase Nitto Trail grappler. Love the look but not the noise. Was thinking about Mickey Thompson ATZs. Any ATZ owners out there who can give me some insight?

You're going to get tire noise with any mud terrain. And actually, the Trail Graps are pretty mild compared to some. Sounds like you need a less aggressive all terrain.

Default Question to the Tire Guru's

My Scorpion AT's have given up the ghost at 40K miles on my F150 4x. After reading the posts on the different tires, I have made up my mind to get a set of Michelin LTX M/S2's (275/55-20).

My question is, they are available in D and H ratings. Would either of these be better than the A rated model?

95% of my driving is on paved roads. 5% is off road in national and state parks and their back roads, most of which are not insane but can get dicey.

I'm looking for a little higher comfort level as far as puncture protection.

I reviewed these a couple posts ago. Atzs are loud for an AT tire, noise level is very comparable to nitto trail grappler

Another thing... In the summer I run trail grapplers (325/50r22) on 22" monster xd and winter I run fx4 18" wheels on Mickey Thompson ATZ (285/65r18).

Nitto trail grappler 325/50r22---miles so far 8000

LOVE these tires. For a MT tire this has to be one of the quietest out there. Louder than toyo open country mt, but not as harsh a ride as the toyos either. Both are load range e but I think the toyo has more/stiffer ply construction. My truck with the toyos would damn near change lanes if I hit a bump on a turn on the freeway. The nittos are much more comfortable. Wear has been excellent, rotated every 6k mi.

Hey guys, looking for a little insight one what everyone else thinks. I'm looking to get new tires and I've narrowed it down too 3 different tires. Size is 275/70/R18 btw.

Tires in mind are
Nitto Grapplers
Cooper Discovers STT
Toyo Open Country M/T

Leaning towards the Nitto's.. Most of my driving is city/highway but occasionally like too kick it in 4x4 and get some mud on the tires. Any help would be great. Thanks guys.

Nitto graps. They do fine for what you need.
