Default Can somebody please tell me the difference between these two tires?

http://www.tqtire.com/compare-tires?sid=24191501

I am guessing that the load bearing version is made for towing, and the other is not? I do not know anything about any of the ratings, so maybe somebody can shed some light on this for me and explain why one would cost about $100 more than the other...

This is likely going to be the tire I go with when I upgrade, but want to make sure that I do not get the wrong one. Thanks in advance.

I can't tell for sure, but it looks like one is a LT tire, which you usually find on a 3/4 ton truck.

The 117 rating is a P metric tire whereas the 120 is a LT. LT's are designed for 3/4 tons and above and typically 10+ pounds heavier than the P metric version. The 117 has plenty capacity for a 1/2 ton.

BUT checking Yokohama's website only the 117 is available in that size.

Ok, I don't know what any of that means, nor do I know how much my truck weighs... Treadquarters has both. Does it matter which one I get?

The 117 was weight carrying capacity of 2833 lbs @ 50psi. Plenty for a 1/2 ton truck.
