Default 22" Rims/Tires = 20" rims/tires?

All, new to the forum but am Ford for life. I just bought a Limited and it sports 275/45R22's. I live in Alaska and where I live I need studded tires, I have not been able to find 22" studded tires. My questions is can I boot up my truck with 275/55R20's (Platinum size rims/tires) without having to recal my speedo? I know that the discs are the same size on both vehicles so fitment should not be an issue. I am not sure how well the OEM Scorpions will handle if I stud those. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah, all I found was 285x50x22 Nitto Trail Grapplers, if you could fit those. I would think that you might be alright with the swap setup for winter. However, even the slighest increase, or difference in tire could throw off something like the speedometer, but if it does it wouldn't be as much as going to a huge tire size, such as 35". BTW, I'm not an expert, just a forum member posting my thinking. Good luck!

PS: Oh, you may not be talking about M/T's. If so, my bad...

you could go with any size wheels and a corresponding tire size that has the same outside diameter as your stock size.
275/45/22 = 31.7"
17" wheels and snow tires are cheap. I am sure they are much cheaper, not to mention much better in the snow than a 20" wheel and snow tire package.

a 265/70/17 is a popular size with lots of choices and comes in at 31.6" so its perfect for your situation.
