loud hiss coming from a Pioneer DEH-P6000UB
On a Crutchfield forum concerned with the Pioneer DEH-P6000UB there is a person who has one, like the one I ordered from Crutchfield, this person is complaining his unit has excessive hiss when powered up. Crutchfield sent him a replacement unit and that one has the same problem. This last makes me think the problem is the operator and not the radio. Does anyone have one of these radios installed, if so does your unit have a hiss problem? This person also calls Pioneer a cheap brand, I don't know about you but I have alway considered Pioneer to be a top of the line outfit.

its may be ground noise also called road noise. If it is that then there is a part of the wiring with your amp that is touching metal. it could also be your RCA's in the back of your deck, Tell the person to turn there base all the way and that sometimes fixes it but it can get annoying

Pioneer is awesome
is the hissing coming from the unit or the speakers?
if the speakers then there is
A)road noise as supertruck said, but also possibly caused by signal wires (rca cables) running next to power wires
B) something to do with the ground. (had that prob in a 03 xterra and had to install a bigger power wire, and a capacitor both so i could run a ground to near where the factory harness grounded from the battery prolly not the best way but it was all i could figure)
If its from the radio then who knows

No Hiss
Bottom line is there is no Hiss, except when this head unit is in receive mode this hiss is what in hamradio we call QRN, atmospheric noise, and this goes away when you adjust the gain setting on it.
