Wiring a sub / subwoofer and amplifier in 2015 F-150 (no door removal, how-to guide)

I don't see this thread mention the highpass filter that I've seen mentioned on the rear outputs. I'm looking to do something like this soon and I'd like to know if I can do something like the OP in my 2016. I haven't found enough to read to know if the filter is physical or if it's digital from the head unit.

Dude. You literally are a lifesaver. I was trying to hook up a sub in my new truck last night (first ever F-150, had it for two days and this was my first time taking it apart) and this guide saved me. Had my truck basically torn apart and was in too deep to turn back. Great guide.

I used this post to help in putting my sub in my 2015 and will use it again to install the sub in my 2018. Nice write indeed. Ok, install is done, works like it did in the 2015, however, the hood release grommet pass through wasn't an option, I had to go through the plug on the passenger side. All good, but I lost the firewall plug, one minute its there and then gone, looked everywhere. Anyone know where to source one of these please? I've searched the web and Ford parts sites.
UPDATE: Found the plug online after some searching, part number, W706010S300, Ford oem part, perfect fit. Thanks!

thank for all the work you put into this...wish i would have looked first. I spent 2 hours trying to cut through the big on on the pssenger side before I got fed up and found this. It was easy going through the hole on the driver side and keeps everything leak proof too!! I used some plastic loom in the engine bay to secure the wire across the back of the engine bay and all was good. sounds great...awesome write up.

I didnt cruise through 37 pages but skimmed, I went to an audio shop and he wanted $1600 bucks for JL equipment and and install. 5 Channel amp and a sub. He would power the stock speakers and sub with said amp.
Price scared me away as I have installed subs before but on older cars. Ive never done the newer ones yet.
So my question being and I understand tapping the speaker wire for signal, but how about the RCA jacks? Thats usually where you would get the sound from, is there a converter for the input? Thats where im not under standing how the input comes in with speaker wire.

You use the for-11ck harness to tap into the factory radio harness. From the harness you run high level (speaker level) into your amp. If your amp doesn't accept high level input, then you need a high to low level convertor (LOC).

That price isnt unreasonable but you would need to give us the model numbers of the equipment he is selling you.
