ok that’s where you lose me is the last part. I didn’t see him do that to his head unit in the OP? Is that where the LOC come in handy?

I've got the same amp you plan on ordering and a shallow mount pioneer sub.

I ran the power wire down the driver side door panel to the battery, and the RCA and signal wire down the passenger side door panel. RCA and signal wires go from the head unit to the amp.

Then I used speaker wire to connect my amp to the subwoofer.

The install is pretty straight forward. If you still have the factory head unit/stereo, then you may want to tie into the speaker wires on the truck instead, but idk, I've always preferred aftermarket head units.

Its kinda hard to see in that picture, but I actually made a little bracket using a 2x4 to keep the Sub box above the seat bolts, and a piece of plywood to mount the amp. Just sprayed it with bedliner when I was finished.. It was a pretty tight squeeze back there, and so far everything seems to be sturdy!

so after messing with a couple of different 8" subs that i wasn't satisfied with but I still wanted something that would fit behind the seat I ended up using the kicker option from the 12th gen extended cab with a Kenwood sac-m3001 and a soundstream signal processor and now it feels like things are about to fall off the truck if I turn it up and if fit without modifying it. I used the factory connection in the pillar for signal to it. total cost into it was $250

Default JL Remote Gain Location

JL remote ****

just thought I’d add my portion to this thread. I installed the JL ACP108LG-W3v3, ran the power wire down the passenger side and tapped into the pillar wiring for the line level converter. I also purchased the remote bass control. Took me a while to find a place I could mount it where it was out of the way.

This is an interesting solution! No issues folding and locking the back seat up with that sub behind it?

What year and cab type is your truck?

its a bit of a tight fit but the seat fully locks in place. It only lifts up about half way now but that’s all I need to be able to get to the stuff in that little storage spot. I modified the latch so I could open it easy without reaching behind it. It’s a 17 crew cab

I wonder if the amp is the cause of the seat not folding up and if you trimmed the insulation if that would make it work

I was wondering that too. I drive with the large passenger seat locked all the way up 98% of the time.
