If it works for yah, cool...
I can see why it was more difficult for you. I'm only 5'8", so I'm a little closer to it than you. Lol

PAC LC-1, 10x better than any remote gain ****. Even though I don't have it hooked up to anything, just getting ready for the 18s.

Someone PM'd me tonite, askin how my Bass **** is mounted in my 16, behind the knee bolster plastic!

Since you cant send pics via PM, heres how I mounted it! I had to use a razor knife, to remove some of the plastic from the Tab that connects from the knee bolster to the dash panel.

Then, I just pushed the **** tight to the plastic panel, drilled a small hole through the plastic, and inserted 1 screw, to hold the bass **** in place. As, there wasnt enough plastic to anchor 2 screws. I also, used a 2" piece of 3m tape, on the bass **** to help secure it, while I installed the 1 screw.

Also, a Side Note....

I dont know if alot of people are aware! But when you use a Bass ****, with Alpine amps. You need to have the Gain on the amp set to 100%, for it to work properly.

I dont know if its the same for other brands, nut my Alpine MRV-M500 amp is this way.

I found this out, by reading comments on Amazon Reviews, of my amp!

wait, why would you ever set you're gain to 100%.

The gain isn't a volume ****.

Before you answer that question, please, please, please watch the video below. by Tony D'Amore, former electrical engineer for Rockford Fosgate. Now he owns his own electronics firm, D'Amore Engineering....

Exact reason I use a PAC LC-1, and not a "remote bass/gain ****" that just manipulates the signal from within the amp itself...causing distortion and clipping. Which leads to extra heat and failure of components. The LC-1 manipulates the input signal. Once the gain is properly set at full volume(With a SMD DD-1 or Oscilloscope), the PAC LC-1 will simply lower the input voltage coming from the source unit into the amplifier.

No kiddin! I know this, but when using the remote bass ****. If you want to be able to get the advantage of it, set the amps gain to 100%, then however you have the bass **** dial set. Is the amount of gain your getting to the sub!

So, say the gain on amp is 100%, bass **** is set to 12:00, your getting 50% of gain of the amp!

My sub is 400 watts, my amp is pushing 300 w @ 4 ohms. I keep the gain on the amp at 100%, bass **** 75%. So I should betting around 175 w, to my sub!

Bumps and sounds good to me! Thanks

Im not entering audio contest, or worried if I can be heard driving down the street! Or the ins and outs of bass *****.

Then run a PAC LC-1?

Set the gain to the proper setting, and forget about it. No need to risk damaging equipment by setting it up improperly. $10 to $20 to protect a $150 investment. I dunno, just seems silly to me to do it any other way.

And yes, I know what you mean. Kicker amps are the same way. Unplugging it on my zx750.1 was the best thing I ever did with that amp. Twice as loud and a lot cleaner sound.
