Where is loganberry?

So how or where did this transaction go down? If it was Ebay do you have the item number?
If he advertised the radio with specs and you bought it then I wouldn't say he doesn't have any obligation.
Now if you came on the forum and said I need a radio for my truck.....make / model / Year and he said I have one that I'll sell you. Then ok. He needs to take it back.
So what was the situation?

Having been through the paypal resolution process, I am willing to bet that the detail about what the transaction had to do with didn't have enough detail. Paypal needs EXPLICIT descriptions and super detailed information about the item if bought outside of ebay to be able to legally enforce giving you your money back.
Buyer beware bro, you should have confirmed it was for the correct year.

The guy and I were emailing back and forth quite a bit and he was attempting to help me with my issues. Seemed like a square enough guy. When we discussed the radio purchase it was done via emails. He was even prompt as heck in shipping it. It wasn't til I opened the box and saw the older model radio that I thought something might be up. I then nicely emailed him this....
4/9/2010
"Well Logan, I recieved the radio today, however its not the right one. This must be for an 08 or older. Do you have the correct one for an 09 or 10?"
I got no response from him which was odd, as every other email I had sent him I got a rapid reply, he's using his phone for emails.
Then on 4/13/2010 I sent this
"So have you not gotten my last email , or or are you just blowing me off? I am not real happy about being sold the wrong radio, and from a guy who knows soo much about audio equipment. Would appreciate a response."
And then I started a paypal dispute wanting my money back figuring that might be the only way I was gonna get this fella to reply to me. I asked for my money back and even offered to pay the shipping of the WRONG radio back to him if he would refund my money. He flat lied in his paypal dispute response about how the thread that got the radio deal going between us was about 2004-2008 head units, I dont even know what he was talking about. Anyway, I am out $135, I have a junky older model radio in a box and this guy is obviously not going to man up. He hasn't even been on the forum since our transaction after being on here regularly. Tis what it tis, just dont want to see someone fall for the same chit I did.

Yes it is, but I never viewed or PM'd him in reference to that classified ad, thats the first time I have even seen it. Our talks started via PM's and then email from my threads about my new F150 stereo and my upgrades.

Dude I'm not taking sides, I don't know you or him but did you ever once confirm it was for your year truck or did you just assume he should have known that?
I think what it boils down to is a purchase was made but the buyer never read the specifics on the box or asked the sales man any questions HOWEVER he should be communicating with you and if not offering you a refund at least some type of partial refund (restocking fee as any other online company would do if you bought the wrong radio and it was due to you not asking or reading).
Anyways good luck and if you get stuck try selling it on ebay, here or craigslist.

im not trying to bring a old topic up from the dead but you are the one that stopped emailing me, i posted very clearly what vehicle this headunit fit and you should have known that a 04-08 isnt gonna fit your 09+ vehicle, i emailed you back offering you your money back for the headunit and never once heard from you again, i was away from this site due to medical problems and now that im back, the reason i am bumping this is because i dont want my name drug through the mud...i did nothing wrong in this transaction at all, you ordered a headunit for a vehicle other than yours, the headunit was perfect and worked 100% that is not my problem
