What Else do I Need?

I recently bought a new Pioneer radio for my 07 reg cab. I went to Pep boys today and they wanted to charge me $80 for just the installation pieces.... That is more than I paid for the brand new radio itself!

The guys said I needed two harnesses, I figured I'd need one, but I really need two? The radio came with one wiring harness itself.

The kit they also had didn't look right to me, what kits have you guys used?

What about the antennae wire?

Thanks, sorry if I sound too nooby, I am really nooby.

what year is your truck? my jeep needed an antenna patch wire ($20 at best buy) then there should be one harness that you need from your stock plug to the stereo plug(approx $20) plus the plastic pieces that actually mount the radio in the DIN spot (bout $30-$40)

For the 07, you need an antenna adapter (10-15), wiring harness (15-25), and dash mounting kit (25-45). So they can easily be anywhere from 50-90 bucks for all the parts you need to do the install correctly. This makes everything a 100% plug and play situation and you won't have any problems during that process. You can find the parts online for cheaper and can find multiple brands if you search around and figure out which brand is best. Metra and Scosche are usually the top 2.
