This behind the HU on my stock radio. I am installing a new HU and I am trying to figure out if i need it or not. If I need it what wire harness adaptor do I need to get.

The harness on the right would be your steering wheel controls. You would need a different harness to remain those functions. It looks like you already bought an aftermarket harness?

I have the Scosche FDK11B harness adaptor already. So I should be good to go if I don't have steering wheel controls. 2010 XLT stock HU

That is the same one I used on my 2011 but I did have to buy another harness to remain my steering wheel controls. If you do not you should be good to go.

Well I can not find 12 volts switched so I gave up for the night the factory harness only has 3 pins on the bottom row and none of the had any voltage on them with the key on. Sort of lost now I can rewire the wireharness adaptor I have I just need to figure out the factory harness. Thanks for the help so far

If one on right you mean, that goes to AUX and rear seat entertsinment wires even if no have. The aux should go to your aux jack. Do yourself a favor and get the replacement harness by PAC, C2R-FRD1. It will make it all easier. Try eBay and sonic electronix. Also, the pac site will have instructions for that harnes I just mention which will show what that 16 pin thing goes to in your picture on right. Left one is 24 pin right?

Here is link to instructions for the C2R-FRD1 harness (if you dont care about retaining sync). It shows what goes to each of those connectors (2) you were showing in your pic:

Thanks

Same here. Mine aswc was not a direct plug either. I looked on their website and the colors they stated were not correct for my truck. I called their tech support and they told me the correct wires for the steering controls. To the OP. You are going to have to go to your fuse box behind your passenger kick panel. From what I read you will have to use fuse #41 for your power relay. Get yourself a fuse jumper. Hope I can help a bit but I'm no pro in any means.

You won't find 12v switched there, on a '10 like yours the factory deck turns on via data. When going aftermarket you either need to use a data module or find a switched circuit to tap somewhere else.

Now this makes more sense to what I am seeing. I just figured I was going nuts (and yes that was a short drive for me). So any idea as to where to find this easily? With this new knowledge I should be more dangerous to my truck then ever:jester:
