Default Upgraded speakers, now what?

Im sure this question has been beat to death but Ive been searching for a few days with no direct answer.

I upgraded all 4 door speakers to alpine type S speakers, They improved the sound a ton. before I had the bass turned down as low as you could and that was the only way to get no distortion, now even at half they sound good.

what Im wondering is will an amp(the hidden alpine one) make these speakers louder?

Yes, that Alpine amp will improve your sound if you're just looking for more clarity and a bit more volume, but don't want to bother with adding a bunch of after market equipment. Highly recommended from me at least.

just seems like changing the HU is a PITA and $$$ just nice to be able to crank the tunes and its clear and people can hear it lol. the new speakers alone made a huge difference. Should get an amp this week

I just put type s 6.5 components in the front doors and 5x7 2-ways in the rear doors along with a Phoenix Gold 10" sub & 300w Rockford Fosgate amp under the rear seat...stock H/U. The door speakers sound good but I'm thinking they could use a little more power to keep up with the sub. I'm not sure what amp I'm going with but I'll give them ~100rms even though they're rated for only 80rms. If they're anything like the Alpines I've had in the past a little overpowering won't hurt them!

A good aftermarket headunit or DSP would improve your volume and SQ dramatically. Some of the higher end HU's offer time alignment, 5-7 band parametric and graphic eq's, bandwidth selection, frequency selection, along with hpf, and lpf filters.

Also, the voltage coming from the pre-outs on an aftermarket headunit, blow all LOC's out of the water. But if you are doing the KTP-445 upgrade you dont need pre outs, that add on amp just converts the speakers hi level input and uses that for the signal. I have one of these I no longer use if you are in the market for one.

I agree. I tried all the above with the factory HU and wasn't happy until I replaced it with an aftermarket. With the correct wiring kit there is about 11 wires to attach and 7 screws to get the factory HU out. Pretty simple.
