One of the first things you do is upgrade the speakers

That's what I thought, however Kicker has the VSS that is 50wattsx4 designed to be used on the factory radio.

Factory radio is fine but I wouldn't recommend factory speakers

Is their VSS updated for the 2018s which use B&O Play instead of Sony? Or is it just for the regular setup?

The B&O is better than the Sony, in much the same way that the 7th place finisher in a race is better than the 8th place finisher. Speaker swap looks to be the same but wiring in a new sub, or even new amp for the mains, appears to be problematic as no one seems to have figured it out yet.

That is correct. No one has come out with an aftermarket setup for the 18 B&O that I am aware of. May take a while for that....

Anyone have a recommendation for some cheaper bang for your buck upgrades over the base model truck base speaker setup?

may as well ask which oil is the best

stick to a name brand like alpine, pioneer, jvc, etc and you will be fine. anything by any of the names above will be am improvement over the stock speakers, but don't expect night and day differences if you are only upgrading the speakers. the headunit is where everything originates.

Quick question, where is the capacitor for the factory tweeters located? I'm going to swap all 4 door speakers for Infinity Kappas, I want to disconnect the factory tweeters, and the centre channel.
