How do you like those 571s using the stock h/u and no amp? I'm thinking of upgrading my speakers, but I don't want to bother with an amp yet, and the HU has to stay the same. I live in the car capital of the nation, and I don't want anything to stand out.

The 571s are very good for coax. I initially installed them in all doors and was pleased with the sound. A couple of weeks ago I replaced the front 571s with components. Sounds even better. But for a simple install with good sound, 571s fit the bill.

I just did 571's in the back doors and 5251's in the front. It was a bit more involved than 571's in all 4 doors but overall I'm happy. I was kind of hoping for more of "wow what a difference!" effect but didn't get it so I can see me adding a small amp down the road.

I just ordered the Alpine PBK 445 to give it more punch. The stock HU is quite weak. Will update once it is installed.

Hi
for add the amp and keep the original HU (no sony, and keeping sync), I use the Metra BT-5520
all indication are print on each cable, for speaker (+, - , front, rear, left, right), but for the +12 volt for switching amp, you will need to tap on the wire. on kick fuse pannel
just see my post about that:
https://www.f150forum.com/f30/new-am...nal-hu-116141/
the harness are avalable on many places : crutchfiels, sonixelectronics.....is around 40$
if you take time to read many thread on that, you will find some video : how remove the HU, how fix the harness.
you need remove the central console for have access to the radio
good luck
