If I run new speaker wire to my speakers from my amp. What side of the truck should I run the speaker wires on? I could definitely be wrong but I thought you were suppose to run the speaker wires on the opposite side from the Amp Power wire. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Signal wires from the HU should be on the opposite side of the power.

Ok guys... im having issues with my snyc and the dealership took a look at it. They blamed it on the PAC and said they bypassed it and everything worked fine.
The problems I am having are: I cant hear someone talking when I am on the phone (but they can hear me) and I cant hear voice commands..
They said that when they bypassed the pac they could hear the sync lady talking...but I dont get how because if you bypass the pac none of the speakers will work right? Since they are all hooked up to the amp (which wouldnt be hooked up?) So either they are lying or somehow it actually worked. Do any of yall have any answers for me? If so please let me know! I just ordered another pac so I guess we will see if that fixes it...

sorry boostedf150 wish I can help you there .

I want to ask the people on this thread about what they think of my future install. Keeping stock HU and wish to retain SYNC. Do I need a PAC? I know darkknight added a Metra harness with a similar setup (amp and LC6i) But he had an issue with a popping noise when he turns on the radio. Hoping to avoid that.

Just ordered:
AudiControl LC6i A
Alpine MRP-F300 to power:
4 JL TR570-cxi (maybe adding better tweeters to the front)

Thanks all!

Yes you need one. And I don't have any piping noises!

I'm confused. If I use the PAC RCA outs to my amp, my headunit's volume control will no longer adjust the volume? (My 5 channel amp will run components in the front, coax in the back, and leave me the option of future sub)

I hope that's not the case - If so, would I just use the speaker/high inputs on my amp and splice the speaker wire from HU?

edit: Was just reading the product description on a vendor's page "Audio output level is controlled by the volume of the factory radio." Hope that's the case.

You will be able to control it with your radio

Am I better off using the pac unit or the amps speaker level input? I'm going with a 5 channel alpine mrx-v70.

What would be the advantage or disadvantage of each?

I'm going to purchase 4 5x7's (2 front 2 back) and one 10" sub that the amp will be powering.

Thanks

Low level signal is cleaner. You aren't amplifying an amplified signal.

Also, you wouldn't be splicing your factory wires - just the PAC harness. I just did basically what you are doing using a PAC. I split the rear RCA cables (from the PAC) at the amp so that my Sub and rear speakers are using that rear low level signal. I really didn't want to have a separate sub control dangling around in my cab - if I have someone in the back that isn't sub friendly, I can just fade the sound to the front or turn the bass down a bit through the stereo.

The disadvantage is that you would be running 2 sets of 2pair RCA cables (rather than standard speaker wire?) from the stereo to the amp - was a little tricky fishing those fat connectors from the head to the amp.

Also, I'd recommend going component for the front - it really does sound better.
