Here is a question for the gurus...
I installed the alpine power pack amp awhile back with the PAC. Everything went in fine, sounds great. Started to get a little fuzz out of the speakers the other day. It went away on its own. Came back yesterday, and i bumped the stereo like the Fonz and it was fine again. Thinking i had a loose connection on my wiring, i took it all apart. Everything was fine.
While all apart i turned the stereo on...fuzzy. Jiggled all the wires, still fuzzy. Bumped the head unit itself, cleared up. Looks like there's something loose in the head unit.
Perfect excuse for a double din in my opinion!
So the question is, will i have to cut and splice a new HU in? Or will it plug n play right into the PAC like the factory? Provided i get the correct harness for the HU.

Just finished 90% of my stereo install today and this thread sure did help a lot for reference! Thanks guys. And btw, as the site for PAC says and many others, it works for sure on the 11 and 12's now. I have an '11 and it worked flawlessly, and bluetooth and sync have never sounded better!

Not sure if this has already been covered, sorry in advance if it has, but I wanted to throw out a warning that the PAC AOEM FRD24 harness will NOT work with trucks that have the Sony premium system (with 700W 8" sub under rear passenger seat). The PAC website states that the harness is incompatible with THX/Sony systems, but I was skeptical and tried anyways in my 2009 Lariat Screw (with Sony system)...
1. The "Rear" RCA outputs are dead (no audio output).
2. After switching my aftermarket amp RCAs over to the "Front" output, the volume is only affected by the tiny LeftFront/RightFront volume controls on the PAC adapter - NOT synced up with the radio/door speaker volume.
I plan on removing the PAC harness and going with a universal Line Output converter tapped off the two rear door speaker wires behind the radio (since I already have my RCAs/Remote ran... Unless anyone has any pointers or better suggestions?? ...I hate using line-out converters, as it sacrifices sound quality, but that seems to be the easiest/cheapest/quickest route to get some thump back in my music.
Hope this helps! Appreciate any feedback! Thanks

I started this tread about your install, didn't want to hijack the others.
