Default Two 8"s or one 10" Sub in a '02 Supercrew

My question is would two 8" subs sound better than one 10" sub.

Looking at putting a subwoofer in my truck, want to put the box behind the backseat of my Supercrew. According to my measurements a 10" sub will fit better, given the amount of space.

I have looked at the shallow-mount subs. Was told that they don't have the lower bass frequency as the standard sub.

Go with a single 10" sub. I'm running a 750 watt class D kicker and a cheap wally world Sony 10". (she's actually getting ready to blow) It's just enough to give it some thump and not over powering.

it depends, what would you like? 2 8"s can be louder, or 1 10" can be louder, its install and equipment dependant...if your looking at subs i would suggest dc audio, i am a sales rep and can set you up with some good prices, they are some of the best subs on the market right now, for the cheapest prices considering what you get

i have ran shallow mounts before the way they work is that they use a wider voice coil but is obviously more shallow, it works great for higher notes...but lacks a lower fs and sq that i think is important in a all around good driver

If I were you I'd get two 8 inch Digital Design 1508s and put them under the back seat. From what I've seen and heard, they're great subs and they're relatively cheap since they aren't "mainstream".

Well the last subs I had were two Orion HCCA 15.2s so I think the DDs are cheaper compared to those. Lol and I havent really looked into DCs, I'll have to check them out. I want to run some subs in my truck too but want two 8s facing out underneath my seats so I don't have to get shallow mounts.

Ok cool thanks. I saw on their website that they only have one type of 8 inch sub, the "level two". Is that it?

yes, the reason being that if any other one had a 8" version the magnet would be larger than the basket and you run into issues with the spider's being strong enough, when the magnet is larger you either invert mount it, or do a split baffle, i personally own 2 of the level 2 8"s...for 8's they get down really nicely and have amazing sq considering they are there "entry level" subwoofers
