I'm also going to extend my amp board or build a trim panel to cover the hole, in the factory panel, on the amps side that the power wires are coming out of. I didn't realize that hole was still going to be visible.
Down firing sub is best

Here are update pictures of the sub flipped upside down. I made blocks to keep the subs off the floor.

I have some 2 10 inch Kicker cvrs that sre in my mustang currently and want to move them to my truck. A regular cab 16. That box looks good and was wondering the specs on it and is it ported? It does seem a bit small but with space being limited in a regular cab, i might have to settle for something similar.

Thanks

Mine is a single 10" sub and a passive radiator. The box is not ported. It is a pre-Fab box from kicker. My signature should have a hyper link to it.

So I removed the LC7i tonight and changed my ACM via forscan to have the low level outputs. I played with having the center speaker on and off and like that I can turn it on or leave it off via forscan also. Currently I have the center turned off and it seems to sound a little better. I'll have to listen some more.
One thing to note is my Alpine Amp automatically turns on with the RCA inputs. I don't have a remote wire turning it on or off. According to the manual of you use RCA's you need the remote wire? I was prepared to use run a remote wire but didn't need it. Is my amp suppose to work that way?

downfire is much better! this is really nice. I've never done a system without replacing the head unit. Once I get the truck, Audio is something that will need to be done, and i've never done it without replacing the head unit.

Hey 1NiceHarley,

See SoundmanCa's video on YouTube of 8" sub custom box for truck install.
. OR,
Also, check LifeOfPrice for Ct Sounds and Sundown subwoofers that blow Kickers away and cost nearly the same. (the Sundown brand is expensive, though competition class speaker).
Best of luck to you on finding the best system and custom install for your truck!

1NiceHarley,

If the Alpine amp works when you turn the stereo on, it has a special function which causes the amplifier not to require a remote lead wire.

I have the Alpine 500W mono amp and installed the Pioneer 10" downfiring box and it sounds good but I want a little more. Do you think the 12" version Kicker would fit under the seat? Are you happy with the Sub?

I am very happy with my kicker 10. I will have to look at the specs for the 12 to compare. Initial thoughts is it will stick out from under the seat and be a little too thick.
I can measure my little blocks and let you know how thick they are to see if the 12 would work.
