Thoughts on Possible Audio Upgrade for 2013 FX4 Supercab
#12
Search my thread a few more the ago. I have a 2013 supercrew and was right at $1k for my install and parts. I have a non Sony stereo and very pleased with the outcome. I bought pretty much everything from Sonic.
I added JBL 6x8 speakers front and I've 6x8 rear off stock stereo. Added and lc2i , JBL 500 watt mono amp, image dynamics ID10 and a single sealed box. With everything I was right at $1k. I got all of it with extended warranties too and found a local.shop that was great and didn't overcharge. I installed speakers myself and paid for the amp, processor, sub box and wiring with the shop.

Dazed and Confused
I have the Sony. I first upgraded the doors to 5x7 coax and left the stock tweeters. Also added a powered sub to run along with the Sony sub. I enjoyed the sound for several months. A month ago I swapped out the stock tweeter and front door coax speaker to components. Made a big difference. So much more clarity. Real happy with the sound now. Still using the stock HU and Sony amp. I did not mess with the center speaker. Installed Polk MM6501 and db571 speakers.

Dazed and Confused
I found the Polk MM6501 6.5" speakers on ebay. Only the speakers. No tweeter or crossover. I am using the crossover on the Sony amp. I installed JBL tweeters that fit, with minor modification, the apillar to keep the stock look. Real pleased with the setup.
