Thinking out side the box about a box
Ok so we all know that 04-08 f150 was not made with audio freaks in mind so I was thinking about taking the bottom seats out and making a fiberglass box that would hold two twelves and double as a seat bottom... This is gonna be a meticulous project... I was wondering if someone has done this... And opinions on the idea... My 3 goals are sound style and comfort

A fiberglass box is a no joke investment in time and money. I'd recommend just using something like Foxacoustics (vendor on here), you can fit over 6" deep 10s with his.

I agree but I already have tens and they are decent... but like i said I'm an audio freak (still learning) and definitely want something that when I roll up with the friends it will decimate all... besides im still young and would like to learn how to do all this while I have the time... But I definitely appreciate the alternative idea... If this don't work I'll try that out

Well bud I'll go ahead and lay it down for you you wont decimate anybody with subs under a seat... Soo I hope your project turns out good so you get the bass you want but fiberglass is as said before a hard thing to do and to do what u want is very very hard

Word... Preciate the opinions I had two solbaric L7 8's... They didnt do it for me... Now I know a guy that had two of the same 8's and Would just shake the place down... I know moving up in size ain't everything but if I can take two solobaric L5 10's and make a guy with 4 10's leave a parking lot... then the potential for 12's will be ridiculous... my only big problem is in order to do this I'm gonna have to get rid of the restricted space...

A 150 on what meter? Where was it measured and what was the equipment? Sounds like a tall tale. Was the truck reg or ext cab. I need proof. Not trying to be a smartass man. if he did I want to see that cause that's a pretty good feat

I would take the seat bottom into an upholstery shop and have them cut it down to to just the top upholstery and maybe 1-2" of foam on a 3/4" MDF base. Then you can build a a fairly large sub box out of MDF and mount the seat bottom onto it making it look semi stock to anyone looking in.

I'm a sound freak and my 2006 came with factory woofer that seats under the back seat and has a built in amp.
I changed the head unit and kept the door speakers and used an adaptor to send a signal from the new head unit to the factory sub and it has a mega killer sound.
What I'm saying here is instead of blowing money on custom woofer box and killing the back space of your cabin - just get the factory woofer from a junk yard, you'll love it and it should plug right in.
Btw, I think the Lincoln version of my truck for the se year came with the same setup.
