I have done and am already to that point now. I don't at this point, have any issues with the bare wire plugged into the ports but, I did notice at the time I was hooking them up that it was quite troublesome for the set screw set up which uses a tiny clamping plate to hold onto the wire as it would 'spit' it out and I'd have to start all over, shoving the wire back in. I determined the problem to be the mass amount of fine wire used in the cables and made me think there has to be a better way to do this thus, my enquiry.

It was a good day to install the ferrules on the power wires for my amp and sub so, that's what I did today. They went together with some trouble but, in the end, they are firmly attached. If nothing else, it will ensure that none of the hairy wires will do a dance between the cables.

I just joined due to this thread. Last night I ordered several different sizes. Here is a crimper that will work down to 1/0. I'll hopefully find what I am looking for to hook an amp to my factory HU. I have a 2018 f-150 2.7l with Sync3 6 speaker no-amped non Sony. All I need is the wiring that plugs into the radio and the female connector/harness that plugs into that one.

The set screw will do the crimping for you......at the amp. I have a circuit breaker with set screws for my power. Ground does need an eye and power to the battery as well, nice find.

FOR-11CK harness will hook you up...

Thank you. I don't expect to use that crimper very often. I pretty much just got it cause it comes with thick gauge wire cutters. I usually would just use dikes, but thought I'd get the right tool for a change. I also ordered smaller gauge ferrules, 28 down to 7 AWG, along with a crimper for that size as well.

I ordered the FOR-11CK harness today. Should be here Friday or Saturday.

If you or anyone else needs factory info I can look up most things on Mitchell OnDemand.
