Sync Message Screen Displays "DVD" with Aftermarket HU

Just changed out the factory HU and went with an aftermarket, but kept the sync with the MS-FRD1. Now the display reads DVD. Is there any way to keep the screen to say "built ford tough" like at startup??

I'm having the same problem after installing a SONY in dash navigation unit. I don't have SYNC. The startup logo, temp, and compass still work, but "DVD" shows on the screen all the time. Did you solve your problem? Does anyone know how to correct this?

I've looked and talked to several people about this before.
You cannot remove the "DVD" title as when an aftermarket hu is installed, the new harness & brain is tricking the truck to think a DVD is playing to override the truck controls allowing the new hu to function.

I have also had 2 or 3 different pioneer hu in this truck and all do same thing

I recently had a tsb done at the dealer for a shift flare which required them updating the calibration in the transmission and the computer. After having the update done, the DVD that was previously on the screen is now gone.

Have you tried your radio since the computer flash? I ask bc the dealer has done that to my truck a few times and after the radio does not work and DVD is not on the screen. I had to disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes to reset the computers then the radio was recognized and DVD appeared again

I have an aftermarket pioneer radio with the MS-frd1. Computer has been re flashed for a few months now and I haven't had any problems with anything.

Same problem here, using the PAC C2R-FRD1 interface. Shows DVD all the time and I also lost the clock display. I would like to know if there is a way to get the clock back.

Thanks

No. You will use the clock on the new HU
