Sync aux input on 2010 Lariat - convert to RCA (composite)?
I have a 2010 F-150 Lariat. I'm going to be installing an overhead DVD player (Alpine PKG-RES2) and would like to avoid using the FM modulator for the audio portion. In an ideal world, I'd run the left/right composite (RCA) audio out connections to the head unit. Since the Sync system already scrolls through the 'aux line in', which corresponds to the front panel mini jack, that would be ideal to use IMO.
I don't mind losing the front panel aux jack - I hook my iPod up via USB. So, with that said, has anyone ever tapped into the front-panel mini jack wiring to tie in a normal left/right pair of RCA cables?
2010 Lariat w/6 CD changer, NO NAV, NO SONY.
Thanks for the help!

I could see this being wired up in such a way that you still keep your aux-in jack and use when needed and can still run the DVD player audio through when you are using that. I am not familiar with the newer factory decks, but the logic fits.

i seen it wired that way in my buddys dually and in his 08 supercrew. He said they just soldered rca's to the line out input. you just cant listen to your ipod while listening to the overhead.
