Default Suggestions for a low profile amped 8in sub??

Hey guys, I was looking for some extra bump in my 2010 f150, but I don't want to sacrifice any space. Ive seen the sound ordnance, kicker, Pyle, and boss all have the perferct compact sub I'm looking for. I've seen everyone is happy with the sound ordnance sub. The boss and Pyle can be had for much less money and more rms wattage. Does anyone have any input or experience with these on the differences? I don't want to cheap out and buy a new one after a year. I plan on keeping this truck for a long time. But I was curious if the extra rms wattage would make a significant difference in sound?
Thanks!

We have had many, very happy people buy the Sound Ordnance piece. 3 Year warranty and currently a free amp kit. I also feel comfortable that the power rating is conservative. Great way to re-enforce the low end.

im kinda superstitious about using the same brand for the whole setup. Would the SO speakers with the sub along with the factory HU be a substantial upgrade? I dont expect nor do i want it to beat my head senseless. Im just looking for a good, clear sounding system, with some good tight bass. Thanks for any advivce.

These do work great. But check the reviews to see for yourself. Review 2 and 3 are specifically about using them with a stock head unit in an F-150.

Any reason for such a small sub? e.g. regular cab. If not I would suggest a 10" shallow mount. Have you already upgraded your door speakers? If not you could just go with some quality non-oval door speakers with a mounting kit.

ya i use my whole back seat alot and i dont want to sacrifice any space for a sub. So these that fit under the seat seem to be the ticket. Now im just trying to compliment the rest of the system (besides my HU) im leaving that stock. I havent touched anything on the truck yet. Im just trying to make plans for it and do my research. Are components really worth it? I dont mind spending the extra money, just dont feel like drilling a whole into my pillar..

you can fit 2 10s under the back seat easily, I thought i could only fit 8s too so I have 2 Kicker Comp C8s and a pioneer GM-5400 amp. But Im telling you if your spending the time to build the box just get some 10s. Dont get me wrong though, my 2 8s will thump, you can hear me coming down the road

yea i just dont want a box at all or in sight. I flip up my seats quite often to haul things so thats not an option for me.

My 10" is under my driver's side back seat and it provides plenty of bass for my needs. If you don't want to build a box you can find them in the range of $80 and up. If you want that space for cargo area I have seen some creative boxes in the console. If you you have bench set up and don't want to sacrifice any space that leaves with you doors.

If you go with 8" I would go with something like this http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1368W1V...crv=6664805305

Tyguy88,

Would be interested to hear your thoughts about the SO-B-8PT, if you get it.

I will, more than likely, pull the trigger on the same thing (As I get closer to redeployment). (have actually had it sitting in my 'Cart' on the Crutchfield page for the better part of 2-3 weeks) Just waiting to time it closer to my return home.

Despite having a SCREW... i wanted something I could tuck behind the back seat...
