Default Sub Setup Questions

Im debating subs for my truck, but don't have a clue about anything really. Im either gonna put a single 10, dual 10s, or a single 12, depending on prices and such. My question is what size amp would I wanna run for: a single 10?; dual 10s?; and a single 12?

Thanks in advance

This would all be dependent on the subs. Different subs and different manufactures require different amounts of power to run the subs.

I would be buying a Sony XS-LB10S or a Kicker TC104. Would a 500 watt amp be too much for a single? And would a 500 watt amp be to little for dual. If I got a single amp, it would be the kicker, but if i got dual, it would be the sonys

Like I said it would kind of depend on the subs, as well as the sound that you are wanting in your truck. I had a 500W Jensen amp running 2 12" Sony Xplod subs in my eclipse and it hit just under 140dB at a local sound comp. Right now it the truck I am running a 1000W to 2 12" 1st generation Rockford Fosgate subs. So I guess what I would suggest, is to go down to you local stereo shop, and most of them have a listning room for subs. Have them show you what a couple of different subs sound like on the same amp, and vise versa for the sub. And just see the sound that you like the best. Also you will want to make sure that the output on the amp per channel isn't more than the RMS on the sub.

Why would you run 4 10s and one 8?

Because the 4 kicker 10s are gonna beat very well in the back and the 8 will be in the center console the single 8 l7 will beat just as hard as two cvt 10 will u can't beat the squares

Wait... You won't be able to feel the four 10" subs from your front seat? Four? Right?

Can someone translate the last half of that fragment for me?
