Default stupid factory sub question

This has prob been asked before...I didn't search, so don't kill me.

But, can you install a factory sub(sony) in a truck without it? Or does the truck need to have the sony system?

It would be such a pain to add it to the system without it that it would be easier to just add a real sub. There are a good number of options out there that are an easy install and will perform better.

I wish too there was a way, I can access one for a little more than you too but have no idea how to hook it up. I have the Apline inline booster amp mentioned in other threads.(way better than not having it) The older Alpine one not the 445"u". I do not blast my music but would like some lower volume bass. Correct me if I am wrong, but the 2009/2010 OEM Subs have an amp actually attatched to the Sub and the 2011/2012 have it under the center console and not on the Sub itself. I know alot of people say it sucks, but I have the Sony upgraded stereo in my 2010 Fusion Sport and it sounds good enough for me. Has great low volume bass that just makes everything sound richer and more full. And I do not think it even has a Sub.
