They are't completely hollow but for the most part they are. Like I said, mine is purely for looks, not functionality.

I have the bullet style stubby and I haven't noticed any signal loss but I live in and drive in the city. Haven't tested it outside the city limits yet. So far I am very happy it.

Do you get HD radio with it? That's the only reason I keep scratching the garage door..I listen to hd more than xm

I just listen to the FM stations, I don't have xm, sirius, etc.

HD radio runs through your standard AM/FM stations it has nothing to do with Sirius, XM, etc.

Ah I thought it was something else. If it's just the FM stations then it works great as that's all I listen too.

I know most aftermarket radios will have them. All newer Kenwood systems will have HD capabilities. From just scanning with and without HD it basically just fine tunes the radio stations and give you a tiny bit more sound quality if you have aftermarket speakers/subs

That is the one I have I think. I have no idea but they say they don't interfere but you'll run across static sooner than your normal antenna will.
