jl equipment sounds good but is way overpriced, if your looking for loudness you can do some sundown audio 8"s, dc audio 10"s, and many more, building your own box is much better than prefab as whell too

if you don't want your seats lifted you can make the box the base for your seats.
Check out my build log, I'm doing just that for 2 sundown E8's

well i have two kenwood excelon slim 12's under my back seat of my 01 supercrew, so if anyone has the supercrew model it is very possible to fit large 12's under the back seat. i have them running on 1000 watts and they can be heard blocks away.
i also have some subwoofers for sale for anyone who wants to go big
they are competition 12's so if your interested send me a PM

those are NOT competition woofers even tho it says it on its cone....not bad woofers, you just spent way more for something pioneer thinks is loud

Default Pioneer

I don't doubt they are loud to the ear, but I don't think they are quite competition standard and I'd guess with only 1Kw they will not break high 130's in dB on a 40 Hz tone...
Also very dependant on the enclosure style, volume and tune.
It's very rare to see a sub design that has been compromised to fit in a space that will outperform a traditional sub, look at the mounting depth of a DD 9512, there's no way you could make a short design with that magnet!

But OP: if youre looking for an all round setup that will no way BURP 150dB, but will give you a punch in the back, shallow mount may work.

I've forgotten what kind of music you are looking to play on yr setup?

mounting depth dosnt really have anything to do with it either, the dd 9500 series is stock with dual stacked mag's..u can get tripple as an option, but then you go to the fi btl series with a single mag..and yet it outperforms that sub by wonders? or the dc lvl 4 and lvl 5 series...its not just the mounting depth that gives you what you want...for dd's generally you have to have a **** ton of power cause the amount of spiders they put on the sub make it SUPER stiff....if your wantint a 1 hit wonder note then high db lvls are easier to reach (fart box as i like to call it) alan dante is number 1 in db ratings, 2 dd subs, stetsom amps...just look around, but if your wanting loud..then pioneer isnt for you
