Running them in parallel (what happens if you split the outputs) will give a 2 ohm load to the radio. Most radio's are not going to be able to handle that.

What you could do is use the PAC converter and harness, skip the Alpine booster, get the Fosgate I described above, and split the outputs AFTER the line-level converter. Fosgate actually makes a physically identical amp to that 4-channel in a 1-channel version as well.

Bottom line is high impedance outputs (low voltage, after the converter) can be split without much of a problem. Low impedance outputs (speaker outputs, higher voltage) are usually very sensitive to loading, and splitting them isn't going to work.

This is simply not true. You do not need to T the connections. It works just like the other harness. All inline and make sure to install the blue and white amp wire. Then you are done. I just did this in my 2011 f150 lariat screw and it worked great.

i'm a little confused. I have a 2011 f150 and have the little alpine amp hooked up to the stock unit and like everybody else I am wanting some bass. I have read the posts and do I just tap into the left and right rear speaker wire or do I add another adapter to the stock radio? I am looking at a powered sub.

Just did mine tonight. Was not happy with just amp and speaker upgrade. I installed the Sound Ordanace Powered Sub and love it.

You tap into rear left and right speakers, run power to battery, ground and remote turn on. Took about an hr.

Thanks to this helpful thread, I just installed the new Alpine ktp-445U amp on my 2009 f150 Screw and it sounds great. Bought it at best buy because nobody else had it yet. I'm not 100% on this but from what I hear the ktp-445U has some added features and compatible with stock head units as well. I'm not really sure what the difference between the two is but here is what it looks like.
