Sirius Radio Antenna
Putting a Sirius Radio Tuner into my 6140 NAV/DVD/CD etc unit. I am planning to mount the Antenna that has a magnet on the cross member that goes along under the dash. Has anyone done this and if so how is the reception ? I mounted my NAV antenna there and it works great.
Appreciate your thoughts
Thanks

I'm sure you need to mount the antenna near the window. On mine, if I cover it with my hand, I lose reception. I mounted my radio and nav. antennae side by side. I'll post a pic.

Volume Control & Dimmer
Can you turn the volume down on the talking lady (Jill) ? I can't seem to figure out how to do that. I have volume control on my portable. When you roll the wheel for dash dimming does your system dim to ? Mine does not.
Thanks

I wasn't sure so I went out to my truck and played with my system and found that the lights on the head unit do not dim with the dash lights. The nav. volume is adjustable as follows:
1. press menu on bottom left of screen
2. press src setup
3. press nav
4. press nav voice volume
Hope this helps.

I have the DNX6960 which has a different menu set up than the 6140, but I'm sure if you find the menu tab then you will find the voice volume.

Why wouldn't you run the antenna wire in along your headliner and out your 3rd brake light and mount it nice and neat on the roof? Any while you have the 3rd brake light off tint it or put a secondary strip of weather seal around it before you put it back on to insure you won't ever have the famous water leak.
