Thats a pretty nice amp King! So you are using this with a stock HU and no LOC or are you saying I will have to buy a LOC to use this with my stock? Also how can I tell which amps are capable of taking both speaker inputs and low level?

I'm using that amp with an Alpine PXE-H660 so I don't need a LOC. That amp doesn't take speaker level inputs. If you plan to keep the factory head unit, I would highly recommend some sort of processor over a LOC. JL Audio Clean Sweep, Alpine PXE-H660, Alpine PXE-H650 ( still out there on Ebay).

Are processors a lot more effective over LOC? I've always heard that aftermarket units are way better over the two. Spending $200 on a processor might be better going towards an aftermarket unit then I guess!

Yes, along with the ability to tune the system and get rid of the factory processing.

Oh I understand now. So the main difference between getting a processor is if you want to keep the stock HU? And if not, getting an aftermarket HU will do just the same?

On my phone...hard to explain. Every system could use the benefit of a good processor....after market and factory. The Alpine PXE series of processors are especially good for factory systems as is the JL Audio cleansweep. A good processor gives you the ability to make many adjustments that even some after market head units can.....other than like that of the Pioneer PRS head unit. Just throwing an amp on a factory system is fine for most people. However, if you plan to get an amp that only takes low level inputs which would require a decent LOC, may as well get the Alpine PXE-H660 for a couple hundred bucks.

I have a Pioneer AVH-2400BT in my truck along with an Arc Audio XDi 805 5-channel amp pushing 2 pairs of Arc Audio XDi 572 speakers and a pair of Focal 10" subs and I LOVE it, sounds great (IMO anyway lol)

Quick Reply: Should I get 4 or 5 channeled amp?
