I would stick with the MRX-110 just to save money in all honesty. The JL is just so madly expensive everywhere. You can snag the PDX-M12 on Amazon for a hair under $500 on Amazon, and for $550 on SonicElectronix. The PDX and JL share some of the same/similar technology, the regulated powersupplies, also similar to the ones in Rockford's BDCP aswell.
If you want to save a lot of money but be down on power, stick with the MRX-110. If you just want the 1200w @ 4 ohms, go with the PDX-M12. But, if you do go with the M12, I would most definitely have your installer upgrade you to some 1/0 wire, and go with a set of machined 1/0 to 4 gauge reducers. Those constant power regulated supplies can pull a LOT of juice. I've seen people running the Fosgate T1500's and JL HD1200's, unfused at that, pulling well over 160 amps of current, clamped.

Put a Sundown 1200 on a pair of the SD-2 12's in a crew cab PowerStroke, they definitely amazed me. Even sealed, they could have easily been close to a 140, maybe even a 142 in the higher frequency range.

Boom this is turning into one big pain in the ***....
My installer feels by going with the PDX-M12 that i should upgrade my Alternator(400.00+).... and even if i pass on that upgrade its 850.00+(Amp) the 1/0 wiring 375.00 not to mention the 4 channel i gotta get. I'm close to 1700 if not more-
now by going with the MRX-110 he feels by underpowering the subs i could do damage. he recommended contacting sundown to ask..... which i just did.
any thoughts on this. ? how hard is this stuff to install myself ? my HU is an X009-FD2
thanks-

big 3 will handle that load no problem. Sorry for the late reply, checking emails and saw this update. Big 3 is quick and easy, they also have 1/0 to 4 gauge reducers for not a high price.

Yessir. Always a good idea to do the big 3. If you could, it wouldn't be a bad idea to throw a small powercell in there too. Not sure what could fit behind the back seat, but something like an XS Power XP750 or D680 is fairly small but will help with the added load on the electrical system.
Would eliminate the need for a distribution block aswell.

Oh, and here's a nicer amp kit for a tad less money.
http://www.droppinhzcaraudio.com/sky...0-ofc-amp-kit/
Already has hydraulically crimped lugs, a bit thicker wire, remote wire, and some RCA's to boot.
