Replacing stock speakers

Dazed and Confused
You will probably get half dozen different recommedations. It comes down to your budget and needs. Do you want good sound or great sound? Good all around sound or audiophile? I installed Polk MM6501 front and Polk db571 rear. Not top of the line but fit my needs. I also install a Rockford mono amp and Kicker 10" sub.

I Just bought a new 2012 Screw as well, this is the last piece of the puzzle for me on my accessories. Im starting with 12"Sub and custom made box, and adding a Mono Alpine Amp, then if I need more Im going to add the Infifnty door speakers and If I need more going to add 4channel Alpine Amp, while keeping the stock deck for now. It was suggested by my stereo shop to do it in stages and see where the sound takes you might just need a little, instead of going full out all at once! hope you find the sound your looking for I like lots Bass and a tight sound...Good Luck! Fellow Screw!

any descent 2 way or 3 way speakers will make your highs sound better and installing a sound deadener on the doors will accentuate the lows. i speak from experience, the difference is huge even without an amplifier

I did the same with my last stereo set up, and it just pounded, using the deck for the Infinity door speakers, but it was a Pioneer 6000 deck, compared to the F150 stock deck......and I used a Mono Amp for the 10" sub. Im going to put in Infinity 6x8's in, dynamat, just the front and see how it sounds, as I don't think you will here the rear doors with the 12" sub......but if I get them cheap enough I might change them....
Thanks for the advise

You'll learn as I did, that your leg will block the highs a bit on coaxial speakers. Better to use components and put the tweeter in the pillar or door sail.
Wish I did that, then again, I'm used to it now.

The 2012 has a tweeter in the pillar standard, just FYI. I'm sure it's not as good as those in aftermarket components, but it is there for the highs.
