Default Replacing 2014 Stx stereo worth it?

I have a 2014 f150 stx. If you're not familiar, the stx package seems to be the bottom line when it comes to audio. The head unit is Just standard controls, no fancy touch screen.

So far my stereo works fine, can I expect any sound improvement from replacing it with a Sony aftermarket stereo I found online?

Thanks. I've just read some other guys saying their stock radios were better than some aftermarket ones. Mines pretty basic though

Yes, but I think replacing the stock speakers would have more of an impact.

The aftermarket radio will give your speakers more power, without blowing them. My truck has a JVC head that has an actual equalizer and the stock speakers sound pretty good with it. If you upgrade head AND speakers, you'll need an amp.

I have to disagree. You won't need an amp. If you use efficient speakers the new or factory HU will have enough power. What you will need an amp for is if you add a sub.

Just replaced the stock speakers in my 2014 STX yesterday. Got the Pioneer TS-D68F in the front and Pioneer TS-A6886R in the rear. Has already made a huge difference and get a much crisper sound. Plan on upgrading the stereo with a screen now in the next few months..
