In my opinion the 500 would be pushing it. They will sound good at normal levels but you won't be able to turn it up very much (if thats what your into). If so I would get at least a 600w preferably a 750w. JL sells an XD600/1 and a HD750/1 if you want to stay with JL. However, if you're not looking to turn it up loud the 500 should be fine. I'd rather have too much power than not enough.

Well actually those subs are 4ohm so you will only be getting about half the power to them the amps can provide so the 500 will only put 250 (125 to each sub). So each sub only will get a 1/4 of the amps rating. Try to find a 2ohm.

If you use most any amp yes youare correcct however using a JL slash series amp, it will provide the same wattage from 1.5ohms-4ohms therefore there would be no power loss
JL 500/1 provides 500 continous watts -
JL 10w3v3 handles 300 watts continuous and max 0f 500w EACH
300x2 = 600 continuous watts for both subs together which is 100 more than than amp is continous
THe JL500/1 will max out at 1000 watts
This amp will give PLENTY of power to those speakers and infact will max out the subs if the gain is maxed out
In fact JL audio recommends the 500/1 for their dual 10w3 boxes
-Ive been installing JL Audio for 10yrs and been to JL Audio seminars-
