Default Radio panel and switches

I have been looking into this panel for some time now and many of the switch panels i have seen for these trucks are either no made anymore or are way too custom for me.

SOS radio panel

The only problem i see it is really meant for the 99-03 radio panel style and my truck is a 97. Is there a way to modify my panel for this bezel or can anyone show me an easier way to mount switches than a center console. The wife does not really want me to install the expedition console i found

yes but the dimensions are not that far off and the panel is just a flat piece machined with the 6 holes for the switches and cut for the stereo. Both the mustang and F-150 use Metra 99-5027 to install an aftermarket head unit.

My other question still stands if anyone can suggest a different way to mount switches besides a center console or overhead console (since my 97 did not come with one)
