Default Quick question about replacing speakers

I have a 2013 Screw XLT with the crappy 4.2" screen radio and while it sucks it does technically do everything I need it to do. I do however think that the speakers don't do a very good job and I was wondering if it is worth the money at all to just replace the door speakers without replacing anything else.

This is what I was looking at using.

Plenty of videos on youtube how to do this. My '14 xlt screw has tweeters in the a pillars, but I don't know if and when they changed that.

My 13 has them too. I am not talking about actually doing the work. I am asking if its worth the money to upgrade just the speakers and nothing else, or are those speakers even an upgrade.

Those are good speakers for the stock radio and yes they will make a difference. For the front doors, you get better sound if you get a component set. Having the tweeters in the a pillars, made the sound quality a lot better. They make the sound seem more like its coming from the dash rather than near your feet. They will cost more, but they will sound better

I hadn't planned on replacing the tweeters, but you are probably right, probably a smart move.

I just new door speakers in and left the factory tweeters alone. Sounds great.

plenty of threads on this already, replace the 4 door speakers with infiniti kappa series. At which point you'll realize you actually do want more base (infiniti kappas go down to 40 hz). You'll then put in a small amp, and a subwoofer in the back.

Small amp for the speakers? Or the sub I'm looking at going with the kappas down the road but don't want to have to run wire for an amp and then a sub too

no amp for the speakers (though some have done it, I found no need). I just wired the amp to go to the subwoofer (see my sig for model numbers). I found the power provided by the standard head unit to be sufficient for the speakers I used.

I have the 13 XLT also but had an amp and subs installed first. (scavenged from previous vehicle). Replaced the speakers last with Alpine Type R components in the front and two way in the rear and found the pillar tweeters to be the biggest improvement.. Why marine speakers? Just wondering as that is what the link seems to be pointing to. Also 6x8's fit as well. Check out Crutchfield and other threads on here for info.
