Question about sub and amp combo?

I'm wanting to get a Pioneer 10" flat sub,it's rated for 800 watts. I can get a Rockford 500 watt amp for free. Would this set up be good for country music?

build box to subwoofer required specs and i don't see why not. Obviously better options out there but its all up to you

Right theres always better options but you should be satisfied if you only want a little bump.

The goal here is to get something that works well with my music. I know someone that has a system in his truck that makes a Johnny Cash song sound like it's a rap song from all the bumping,I don't want that. But,he drives a Chevy so what can you really expect? lol.

Are you talking RMS watts or peak watts?

Need more info on which sub and which rockford amp. They might not even be able to work together.

But to get the best bang for your buck finding the correct box to meet the subs specs is crucial.
