Post Proposed Complete Wiring Guide

Hey, For my 2010 F150 XLT I've been reading a bunch of threads trying to figure out how to wire with an after market sound system. I've put together this instal guide, both to help others and to hopefully have it checked by others too.
-------------------------------------

Amps
• Alpine MRP M500 Mono 500 Watto Sub Amp
• Alpine MRP F300 4 channel 300 Watto Speaker Amp
Sub
• Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW1202DVCo 1200 Watt Peako 300 Watt RMS
• Sub box
Speakers
• Not sure but will be matched to 4 channel amp output specs

Wiring
Steps
1. Remove negative battery terminal
2. Remove head unit
3. Remove glove compartment
4. Remove driver and passenger side plastic floor panels along edge
5. Remove passenger side of dash (inside when door open)
6. Fish power cable through grommet on passenger side to in behind glove compartment
a. Attach remote turn on wire to main power cable to fish both back under the removed floor panel
i. Leave enough remote turn on wire to reach behind head unit
b. Fish remote turn on wire to behind head unit
c. Replace floor panel
7. Bolt 5/16” plywood cut out for seatbelt behind rear seat to back wall
a. First remove carpet from back wall
b. You can upholster the plywood before installing for look
i. Spray adhesive and fabric
8. Screw amps to plywood making sure seats still have full motion
a. Leave room for power splitter block
9. Cut all 4 speaker wires from behind head unit (remember to label)
10. Splice in speaker wire to end coming from the head unit (use a wire to RCA connector if these are needed for your amp)
11. Run speaker wire back to amp under the driver side floor panel which was removed
a. Cut 8 pieces of speaker wire to length and secure to something solid
b. Place other end of 8 wires in power drill and spin together
i. Makes it cleaner and easier to fish
ii. Label wires before spinning together (*important!)
12. Connect speaker wire spliced in to the amp speaker level input connector
13. Connect other 4 speaker wires to 4-channel amps speaker output terminals
a. Behind head unit connect speaker wire coming from amp to other end of wires cut earlier following labels
14. Connect remote turn on wire to ignition power source (red wire) behind head unit
15. Run main power cable to power block
a. 1 main power in
b. 2 amp power out
16. Plug sub pre-out from 4-channel amp to mono sub amp
17. Run speaker wire form mono sub amp to sub box terminals
a. Wire the sub inside the box first
18. Run ground from each amp to bolt in back passenger side corner of rear (behind back seat)
a. A solid ground location
19. Attach power cable from power block to each amp
20. Split remote turn on wire into 2 wires and run 1 to each amp
21. Replace all removed paneling
22. Plug head unit into connector and replace back into dash
23. Under hood add a fuse to end of main power cable and then attach to battery
24. Enjoy

Default

Looks good. Only thing I might suggest is changing the wire from the dblock to 6gauge.
