Powered Sub questions for You Experts
I've already replaced all 6 of my stock speakers with Fosgates,
I'd like to add a small powered Sub, Been reading as much as I can.
I'm thinking I can tap into the harness in the drivers side rear kick panel
tell me if this is all OK
I have the Forscan setup, Need to figure out what needs to be changed
thank you
David

if at all possible you should really listed to one of the powered subs (assuming you are referring to the slim versions out there) before you spend any cash on them. i have installed more than my fair share of them and none have been impressive. for roughly the same cost you can get a small sub, box and amp in most cases and it will far outperform the pre-made ones.

I used a JL 500/3v2 (3) channel because I wanted to run the amp/sub AND power the front 2 door speakers. My amp is signal sensing so I assume the 5001v2 is as well which would allow you to simply tap into the rear speaker lines. It's probably worth the extra $100-$200 to get a real amp and enclosure. Those all-in-ones seem to be sad performers, that you would upgrade down the road anyways

Very much this. Those 8's are going to be very underwhelming, ESPECIALLY at 150 watts, and ESPECIALLY in the larger cab.
I picked up this combo on amazon for my regular cab and it really bumps without taking up a ton of room.
The wiring kit included is pretty cheap though it works-- just worth mentioning.
I don't know much about vehicle specific audio applications and the cable you posted, but if you don't have a direct line out on the radio, you can always splice into a speaker line with a line out converter to get signal. You can probably throw the $30 at this cable and already be at line level but you'd still have to connect an RCA plug to it. It IS nice because it has a remote turn on wire, but I'm not sure $30 nice for something you could just hard splice in or something.

$195, altogether, though I'd upgrade the wiring kit if I were you.

I think I'm going to replace my factory speakers first and see how much better the sound is. Not looking for a "Thumping" bass but a little more than what I have now.
My 2006 Lincoln Mark LT has the factory sub and that sound system sounds way better than my 2017.
