Gonna give this a try a little later and report back if it works, it's the only aggravating thing about my radio (besides stync) that I really dislike.

I have aftermarket speakers in the doors that can easily handle more bass at higher volumes.

No dice, only thing I could tell is it lowered overall volume, now if I had an amp connected to the speakers it might be noticeable, I have a sub only.

The title of that states "unprocessed line level preamp output" I would think you still need to add an amp. been following that thread for a while now. Plan to do this myself in the near future

Where then do you land your amp's remote turn on signal? Maybe to the power line for the HU itself? You'd want the amp to be on/off when the HU is on/off, right?
